I have received many letters recently from people who are trying to start out in the internet marketing business without spending much money on getting traffic. I really know how difficult it is trying to get traffic when you first start before you have an income. Here is an article that reviews different ways of getting traffic without spending a dime. Putting up a company Website requires many things. To get straight to the point, first you need capital. To make money requires spending money as well. Nevertheless, with the versatility the Internet offers, there are many ways that could help optimize the potential of your site or business in generating traffic.

While there are ways to jumpstart your traffic flow, many sites don’t have the resources to spend on advertising that would generate more traffic. Well, you don’t have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate more traffic for your site.

How sweet it is to have more site traffic without spending a single cent. Now it’s a sure thing that many sites have articles that offer tips and guidelines in how to generate traffic using only free methods. Typically when you don’t have money to spend on marketing, you should be prepared to take more time to use other methods. I’m not going to mislead you. You get better exposure with paid advertising, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods I’m about to share with you.

Take advantage of online forums and online communities.

The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits a certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss many things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

With online communities and forums, you can build a reputation for your company. Show them what you can offer and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject. With that you can build a reputation and build trust with the people in your expertise and knowledge.

You can also use newsletters.

Give people a catalog of your products along with interesting and entertaining articles. If you give people quality content more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who sign up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site to check it out.

Exchange links with other sites.

You don’t have to spend a cent for this one. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. By exchanging links, the efforts of both sites are combined for mutual benefit. All traffic that goes to one site could potentially click on the link of the other site and visit it site too. This works well, especially when both sites appeal to the same niche or compatible niches. A wedding planner’s Website, for instance, would benefit by having links to a Photographer’s Website and a Printer’s Website and a Caterer’s Website. It makes the wedding planner look knowledgeable and efficient, and the other professionals (the photographer, the printer, and the caterer) will certainly benefit from visitors that come from the wedding planner. They might even consider giving the wedding planner’s customers a discount!

Write articles that could pique the attention of people who have interest in your product.

Try to write articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados – give information that will solve their problems or help them with something they’re seeking. Good service and good information from you will help cement your reputation and your readers’ trust.

Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles.

When people find your articles interesting, there’s a good chance they will follow the links in your author signature and visit your Website. Always include a link or a brief description of your company with the article and there is a great probability that they will go to your site.

Write good content for your site.

Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is not a requirement that content should be done by a professional content writer. You could do your own, but you have to make content for your site that is entertaining and informational.

Generally, Internet surfers use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching to generate their search results. With the right keywords attached to your site, you could get high rankings in search engine results without spending much money.

All these methods and more will drive more traffic to your site for free.

The EASY Anyone-Can-Do-It Way To Write Free Reprint Articles

As you may already know, writing free reprint articles and then distributing them to publishers and web sites is one of the best ways to promote your web site - a single article can result in hundreds of new links to your web site and a rapid increase in traffic levels. But there's nothing worse than staring at a blank screen, and wondering how you're going to fill it with hundreds of words. That's why I'm going to give you an easy way that anyone can use to write an article - even if it's your very first one!

1. Get a main idea, or focus for your article.

This is what your whole article is going to be about.

The main idea for your article needs to have some relevance to the web site that you link to in the resource box, because this is how you are going to get the benefit when your article is published.

This is why articles are so effective at directing targeted traffic to your site - the reader will be searching for information on a topic, find your helpful and informative article, and follow the link to your site for even more relevant information. Writing free reprint articles fits right into how Internet users surf the web, and benefits you with targeted traffic.

2. Jot down five or more key points that provide information on your article topic.

For example, if your article's a how-to type of article, you can have say five steps towards accomplishing a specific goal. If your article explains different ways to do something, think of five or more different ways. Each of these points will form a paragraph in your article. Often as you write your article proper, you will find that you can expand each point into two or three paragraphs, which will give you an ideal length for your article.

3. Write an introduction.

Just introduce your topic. Give a little bit of background to the article's topic, and then summarize what you will cover in your article.

Again, you want to keep the reader interested, keep them reading, and push them along to the link in your resource box that you want them to click. So try to spike their curiosity a little, and they won't be able to help but read on to find out more.

4. Write a conclusion.

Your conclusion really just quickly summarizes the main points in your article, similar to how your introduction works, except now you are drawing your article to a natural close.

It's good practice to take a look at some articles in an article directory, and see how authors have concluded their article. Don't copy word for word, but you can base the format of your own conclusion on one that you like the look of.

5. Add a tantalizing title.

You may want to write this at the very beginning, but it's often helpful to write at the end once you are really clear what your article is about.

Your title is also one of the most important elements. It has to draw the reader in, encourage him to read further, make your article stand out from the crowd, and if at all possible contain an element that plays to the reader's curiosity (i.e. literally force them to read just to satisfy their curiosity).

6. Check the length

The ideal article length is 600-800 words, this is what most publishers are looking for, and will ensure that your article gets published in the maximum number of places. If you're short, see if you can expand on certain points, or add a couple of new points in.

7. Write your resource box

The last and arguably most important bit is to write your resource box. Again, it's a good idea to have a look around some article directories and note how other authors have structured theirs.

In my experience, the most effective way to structure a resource box is to first write a sentence about yourself that also gives you some authority on your topic. Then write a sentence about your web site, with a link to it. And that's all it needs. Keep it simple, keep clear of promotional language, and just include a single link.

Once you've practised these techniques a couple of times, you'll find it as easy as pie and will be churning out quality articles in half the time. All you need to do now is get your article out there and published as widely as possible.

Finding Your Niche

I came across an OUTSTANDING article written by the six-figure blogger, Yaro Starak.

Since Yaro allows readers to republish his articles, I thought it would be a good choice to share.

There are basically two types of bloggers in the world, reporters and experts and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it is hard for reporters to become experts, but it is easy for experts to report).

If you have ever taken an Internet marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies.

Whenever the business model is based on content, and if you blog for money then the model is based on content, people are taught to either start as reporters, or if possible step up as experts.

I will be frank, you want to be the expert.

Reporters leverage the content of the experts and in most cases people start off as reporters because they have not established expertise.

Experts enjoy the perks of preeminence, higher conversion rates because of perceived value, it is easier to get publicity, people are more likely to seek you out rather than you having to seek others out, joint ventures come easier, etc. experts in most cases simply make more money and attract more attention.

Most Bloggers Are Reporters
The thing with expertise is that it requires something, experience. No person becomes an expert without doing things and learning.

Bloggers usually start out without expertise and as a result begin their blogging journey by talking about everything going on in their niche (reporting) and by interviewing and talking about other experts (reporting again).

There is nothing wrong with reporting of course and for many people it is a necessity at first until you build up some expertise. Unfortunately the ratios are pretty skewed when it comes to reporters and experts. There are a lot more reporters than there are experts, hence reporters tend to struggle to gain attention and when they do, they often just enhance the reputation of the expert they are reporting on.

Don Not Replicate Your Teacher
If you have ever spent some time browsing products in the learn Internet marketing niche you will notice a pattern. Many people first study Internet marketing from a "guru" (for lack of a better term).

The guru teaches how he or she is able to make money online, and very often the view that the student gleams is that in order to make money online you have to teach others how to make money online.

The end result of this process is a huge army of amateurs attempting to replicate what their teacher does in the same industry, the Internet marketing industry, not realizing that without expert status based on a proven record and all the perks that come with it, it is next to impossible to succeed.

Even people who enjoy marginal success, say for example growing an email list of 1,000 people, then go out and launch a product about how to grow an email list of 1,000 people.

Now I have no problems with that, I think it is fine to teach beginners and leverage whatever achievements you have, the problem is that people gravitate to the same niche, Internet marketing, and rarely have any key points of differentiation.

How many products out there do you know of that all claim to teach the same things - email marketing, SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing, and all the subniches that fall under the category of Internet marketing.

It is a saturated market, yet when you see your teachers and other gurus making money teaching others how to make money (and face it, making money as a subject is one of the most compelling) your natural inclination is to follow in their footsteps.

If the key is to become an expert and you have not spent the last 5 to 10 years making money online, I suggest you look for another niche to establish expertise in.

Report on Your Process, Not Others
The secret to progress from reporter to expert is not to focus on other experts and instead report on your own journey. When you are learning how to do something and implementing things day by day, or studying another persons work, you need to take your process and what you do as a result of what you learn, and use it as content for your blog.

It is okay to talk about experts when you learn something from them, but always relate it to what you are doing. If you learn a technique from an expert it is fine to state you learned it from them (and affiliate link to their product too!) but you should then take that technique, apply it to what you are doing and then report back YOUR results, not there’s. Frame things using your opinion, your stories, and do not regurgitate what the expert said. The key is differentiation and personality, not replication.

Expertise comes from doing things most people do not do and then talking about it. If you do this often enough you wake up one day as an expert, possibly without even realizing how it happened, simply because you were so good at reporting what you did.

You Are Already An Expert
Most people fail to become experts (or perceived as experts) because they do not leverage what they already know. Every person who lives a life learns things as they go, takes action every day and knows something about something.

The reason why they never become an expert is because they choose not to (which is fine for some, not everyone wants to be an expert), but if your goal is to blog your way to expertise and leave the world of reporting behind you have to start teaching and doing so by leveraging real experience.

Experience can come from what you do today and what you have done previously, you just need to take enough steps to demonstrate what you already know and what you are presently learning along your journey.

I know so many people in my life who are experts simply by virtue of the life they have lived, yet they are so insecure about what they know, they never commit their knowledge to words for fear of…well fear.

Blogs, and the Web in general, are amazing resources when you leverage them as a communication tool to spread your expertise because of the sheer scope of people they can reach.

If all you ever do is talk to people in person and share your experience using limited communication mediums, you haven’t much hope of becoming an expert.

Take what you know and show other people through blogging, and you might be surprised how people change their perception of you in time.

Reporting Is A Stepping Stone
If your previous experience and expertise is from an area you want to leave behind or you are starting from scratch, then reporting is the path you must walk, at least for the short term.

Reporting is a lot of fun. Interviewing experts, talking about what other people are doing and just being part of a community is not a bad way to blog.

In many cases people make a career of reporting (journalism is about just that), but if you truly want success and exponential results, at some point you will have to stand up and proclaim yourself as someone unusually good at something and then proceed to demonstrate it over and over again.

Have patience and focus on what you do to learn and then translate that experience into lessons for others, and remember, it is okay to be a big fish in a small pond, that is all most experts really are.

I started Laptops And Computers because I have a degree in computer technology (GTE Sylvania Tech 1986) and worked for 20 years as a computer technician (positions included FEDEX computer field engineer 1992-1998) and over 20 years field experience. If you don't yet have expertise in a niche follow what interests you and the expertise will follow. It's true!

I hope this post strikes a chord with you. I think its a very important
to develop your internet business along the lines of your own interest and experise.

Marketing From The Inside Out

The "Magic Bullet" seems to be what so many marketers are
looking for. They want a secret technique or method to
guarantee their success.

I'll let you in on a secret. They're looking in the wrong
direction.

True success and prosperity start on the inside. It comes
from within yourself, not from some magical technique or
method.

There are no sure fire tools. There is no guaranteed
m.oney making program. There is only your patience,
persistence and most of all your mind set.

Lasting success begins in your head and radiates from your
inner core.

Once you've developed an attitude of abundance, no one
can take it from you.

You'll see opportunity at every turn. You'll realize that
setbacks are really lessons to be learned on the road to
freedom.

Once you know with all your being that you can succeed,
you'll realize that your success depends on you.

There are no gurus to blame.

There are no programs to blame.

There are no methods to blame.

The buck stops with you.

You are the master of your fate.

You determine what works for you.

Don't give away that power.

Learn everything you can about your business and how to
promote it, but make the final decision on how to
succeed yours.

Realize that every step you make along the road to
f.inancial freedom is profitable either in terms of money
earned or experience learned.

If you take two steps forward and one step back, you're
still further along than if you did nothing.

Get your head right and success will come.

Stop looking outside yourself for success. Start marketing
from the inside out.

How To Always Win

In this article by John Colanzi, and in my own affiliate marketing experience, I have learned one very important thing. Don't jump from program to program chasing around to find the perfect affiliate business to promote. Pick a valid program such as the Plug-In Profit 5 Passive Streams Of Income program, and focus on marketing it. Your success will follow in direct proportion to how well you market a program, not on which program you market. Over the past month I have tripled the traffic on my websites Streams Of Income and Laptops And Computers by spending more time social bookmarking. The Enormous Power of Past Success

I've got a new article for you which I find very stimulating. With all of the possible tactics one can use to be successful it can be confusing and disheartening. Well I found this article written by Stone Evans to be very exciting and hopeful and I would like to share it with you to help you with your Streams Of Income.

I was checking my voice mail yesterday and received a
message that was short and sweet. It said: "My name is Ken
Shapiro. I'm the writer, director, producer and star of the
motion picture 'The Groove Tube'. Please call me back at
..."

Interesting. The writer, director, producer and star of a
motion picture?

My curiosity was aroused so I went to Google and looked up
"The Groove Tube". I discovered that Ken Shapiro was
indeed all of the things he said he was and that Chevy
Chase, a very famous American actor, had is debut film
appearance in the movie. My mind determined that Ken Shapiro
was a force to be reckoned with so I gave him a call.

It turns out that Ken found me online and was seeking some
guidance on how to promote his new project at
http://www.BedBooks.net. "Bed Books" is a very interesting
innovation and I must admit that I've often wanted to lay
on my side in bed and read a book, but that's not a very
comfortable thing to do. Thus, Ken's unique idea and
business has the potential to really take off.

In our brief conversation, we exchanged pleasantries and I
gave Ken a few tips on getting publicity for his site. He's
obviously a guy who takes action on his ideas so I expect
that he'll take the information I gave him and put it into
motion immediately. If so, you'll be hearing a lot more
about Ken and BedBooks.net in the near future. In exchange
for my time and advice, Ken said he is sending me a "Bed
Book" to try out.

What's interesting about my conversation with Ken is my
motivation for having it in the first place. Considering
that I receive an overwhelming amount of voice mails every
single day and that I'm rarely able to call anyone back on
the phone personally, why did I choose to pick up the phone
and call Ken on my dime?

The answer is because Ken had established that he was
already successful. Because of the accomplishment of making
"The Groove Tube" movie in which Chevy Chase appeared back
in 1972 I determined that calling Ken would be, at the very
least, interesting. I also sensed that there could be the
possibility for me to benefit in some way because I
perceived Ken to be powerful and influential.

I was right. Ken is powerful. He's a doer. He makes things
happen and I respect him for that. In this world, it's the
dreamers that take action and persist until they succeed
that get my attention. That's why I called Ken and that's
also why he was able to benefit from a free consultation
with me. In that discussion, I gave Ken some very specific
advice for marketing his website that has the potential to
bring him all the business he can handle.

The point to take home is that Ken's previous success in
the movie business made it a lot easier for him to get the
information and resources he needs to succeed in his new
venture. In other words, past success has power.

When I first started my Internet business it was not easy.
In fact, it was downright difficult. I spent thousands of
dollars on credit trying to learn the game and acquire the
tools I needed to build my business. Everything was
expensive and the people who I thought could help me grow my
business the most wouldn't give me the time of day. I was a
nobody in this world.

However, I was persistent and by leveraging my financial and
creative resources I was finally able to make my first sale
online. Once that occurred, I simply focused on what I did
right and did more of it. My sales continued to grow and I
was becoming successful.

From those initial small successes, I was able to continue
building my knowledge. I realized that once I had knowledge,
I could share it. By sharing my knowledge with others, I was
able to become an expert. As an expert, people were
attracted to me. Through that attraction, I was able to sell
more goods and services. I was becoming *very* successful.

Then other experts got attracted to me. They started giving
me their products and services for free. They were also open
to the possibility of working together. The same products
and services that I could barely afford in the beginning of
my career and the same people who wouldn't give me the time
of day before, were now becoming as freely available to me
as oxygen itself.

Why? The answer is simple. I was already successful.

Is it easier for the rich to get richer? Absolutely. Is it
easier for successful people to become more successful?
Definitely. The momentum has already been established. Money
attracts more money and success attracts greater success.

Before you get cynical, first consider the fact that most of
the rich and successful people in this world started with
nothing but their ideas and enthusiasm. They were able to
use that energy and put it into motion to create their own
success.

In most cases, the path they traveled was riddled with
moments of confusion, struggle and failure. But they
persisted and with each small success their path got easier
and easier to travel until they eventually paved it and
turned that path into a "success super-highway" that now
allows them to travel and succeed with ease.

The enormous power of past success is that it can and will
catapult you toward greater success in the future. Use
everything in your power right now to create some initial
success and then roll that success forward to create more
success in your life. You will ultimately discover this is a
very easy thing to do.

The use of the right colors on your web site can actually
increase your sales. When people see certain colors they can
change their emotions or they can symbolize things related
to the colors. Here are a list of colors with some emotions
and symbolizations they can cause:

Red - love, excitement, warmth

Pink - romantic, affection, sensuality

White - purity, peace, perfection

Blue - sky, water, travel, freedom, truth

Purple - royalty, dignity

Black - space, night, authority

Green - money, calm, envy, greed

Yellow - light, purity, understanding

Orange - autumn, youthfulness, fire

Brown - wood, comfort, strength

Its very important to know which emotions or symbolizations
will trigger your target audience to buy your product or
service. If your selling a money-making product you should
use green colors to represent money or bring out the emotion
of greed. People also associate comfort and travel with
money so you maybe want ad in some brown and blue
colors on your web site.

The same principle can be applied to graphics or pictures
of your product on your web site. Package your products
with colors that will trigger your audience to buy. If your
selling a book about how to be more romantic, use red
and pink colors on the cover. I hope these simple web
site color techniques will increase your business's sales.

Before you can have a successful home based business, you must first possess 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

 ===> Intangible 1 <===

First, you must have a strong WHY.

Why MUST you have a successful home business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money working from home. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money with your own home based business.

I've always said that "affiliate marketing" (a simple way to make money from home) is the job of the future. In the "old" days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. In fact, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with a home based business.

That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is that home based business success is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. It's like having children... You're never really ready, but when it happens you adapt and grow. This is what I call "Making the Leap."

The good news is that the cost of failure with having your own home based business is very small. In the "brick and mortar" world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100.
